Sponsored by the Shelburne County Rug Hookers, the rug hooking display will contain some 30 pieces depicting life and times of Shelburne County spanning the last 225 years. Each piece on display, specially created and designed for the Loyalist Landing 2008 celebrations, is 12” x 14” and is framed using the same wool border. Each will feature a plaque providing a description and brief history of the design. Experienced rug hookers will also be on hand to give demonstrations of this traditional maritime craft and will encourage you to try your hand at hooking. There will also be raffle tickets sold on a hooked wall hanging. For more information, contact Marian at 875-1508 or Rita at 637-2950.
Priscilla Wesley and Anna Smith, both avid long-time quilters from Shelburne, invite you to step down memory lane as you tour an exhibit containing over 30 quilts lovingly handcrafted by generations of Shelburne County women.
